Nothing is more enticing than looking back and discovering the gems that rocked the Fashion scene yesteryear in the Middle East.

And where better to start than a little dash of Royal Vintage Glamour from our very own icons. These women are known world over for their stylish, trend setting ways which young fashionista’s are bringing back to the spotlight Arabic Gulf region.

Queen Noor of Jordan

Her primary-colored blazer was from Yves Saint Laurent’s Mondrian collection, where the designer paid tribute to abstractionist artist Piet Mondrian. Queen Rania’s mother-in-law topped her asymmetrical look with a simple white scarf, oversized sunnies and large pearl button earrings- sticking to the truth that in the 80′s more was simply more. The picture was taken in March 1984.

Sheikha Paula Al Sabah of Kuwait

Known for her iconic turban and leading royal style icon, here is the Sheikha optes for a more flowy style in a color-blocked design of black, white and green. And she cinched it with a thin leather belt.

Notice the ankle length of the dress. It’s not long enough to be considered an evening gown but a chic way of “covering up” for day time. As always, she finished off her look with a great clutch, and that iconic turban.

And moving into Persia (modern day Iran)

Farah Pahlavi (the former Queen and exiled Empress of Iran)

Farah Diba1

Forever stepping out in style, elegance and grace. Back in her day, she was a a major stylish woman who inspired many that came after her in fashion. She was more of a trendsetter with her own personal style.
